Celebrate the Year of the Ox!
Each item has its own symbolic meaning:
Gold Chocolate Coins: Cha-ching! These symbolize prosperity. May you and your loved ones have a successful year.
Coconut, Red Apple and Golden Ginger Ale Jelly Beans: A meaningful trifecta: Coconut = Family Unity, Red = Luck, Gold = Wealth.
Pistachios: In Cantonese, the word pistachio translates to ‘happy nut.’ Eating them will bring you more joy and happiness in the New Year. Now that’s something to crack a smile about.
Strawberry Fruit Laces: Try eating each strand without tearing them. Its length represents longevity. Long laces, long life!
Almond Cookies: Almond cookies date back to the 16th century and were once served only to royalty. They resemble coins and are an offering of good fortune. So eat up Kings and Queens!
White Rabbit Candy: A humble (and tasty) reminder of how sweet life is.
Laughing Sesame Balls: It is said the cracks resemble wide-smiling mouths. A handful of these will bring joy and laughter to your year.
Orange Fruit Slices: The orange is a staple in Chinese tradition because of its promising symbolism of wealth and prosperity. Remember to bring a pair of oranges when visiting friends and family!
In the center of the tray, place an orange along with a red envelope filled with lucky money.
May the new year bring you happiness, wealth & prosperity!
